NYU collections

Personally, I found the materials presented to us in Fales WAY more interesting than those during the Tamiment session. I'm big on music so the old magazines we saw in Fales were golden. I actually thought I could get information for my final project out of them, but I was wrong. No one seems to have catalogued the musician who informally performed in the park... Anyway, I still enjoyed looking through the reviews, old ads for upcoming shows and CD releases and images of artists I know back from that time period (they looked so young!!). I was also impressed by the first edition books with REALLLLLY cool covers- Andy Warhol?! C'mon! Forgive me if this is common knowledge but Fales seems for have more of the art and literature stuff while Tamiment houses the political. The only stuff I really remember from the Tamiment trip is the funny flyers and the Triangle Shirtwaist fire material. Because the fire happened where Silver is now, I'm really interested in that story. I wish I had known about the special collections sooner (not my last semester here *sigh*). NYU has a TON of resources that they should "advertise" better.
